Born and Raised in Highland Park, Illinois, Graduated Highland Park High School 1976, Graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Anthropology in 1980, MS Geology(Metamorphic Petrology) 1982 at the University of Michigan, Ph.D in Geology (Metamorphic Petrology) at the University of Michigan 1987. Graduate Advisor Dr. Eric J. Essene. Assistant Professor, Geology, University of Arizona 1987 – 1994. Joint Positions at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee, 1994 to present.
