I am a computational materials scientist, focusing on the development of additive manufacturing process-microstructure modeling software designed to leverage the capabilities of next-generation hardware. My primary area of expertise is the kinetics and thermodynamics of alloy solidification and I’m the lead developer of ExaCA, a GPU-capable cellular automata model for explicit grain structure prediction that has successfully been used to predict large-scale additive manufacturing microstructures.
