Quantum Key Distribution Applicability to Smart Grid Cybersecurity Systems
To meet the increasing demand for electricity and to have a more reliable and resilient electric grid against conventional and extreme events, grid modernization is more crucial now than ever before. This will require the development and deployment of devices that provide advanced communication capabilities. The overall efficiency, reliability, and resilience of the smart…

Field test of continuous-variable quantum key distribution with a true local oscillator
A continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CV QKD) using a true local (located at the receiver) oscillator (LO) has been proposed to remove any possibility of side-channel attacks associated with transmission of the LO as well as reduce the cross-pulse contamination. Here we report an implementation of true LO-CV QKD using “off-the-shelf” components and conduct QKD ex…

Phonon-induced multi-color correlations in hBN single-photon emitters
We explore electron-phonon dynamics in hBN defects and observe g(2)(0)=0.20 in a phonon replica and g(2)(0)=0.18 between a phonon replica and the zero-phonon line, and we examine Purcell enhancement of phonon replicas with phononic cavities.

Demonstration of a Quantum Key Distribution Trusted Node on an Electric Utility Fiber Network
We present a trusted node quantum key distribution system deployed at an electric utility. We show the QKD distance limitation can be extended using trusted nodes with realistic utility fiber infrastructure, demonstrating the possibility of quantum technologies in providing information security to electric grid devices.
