Advancing Power Grid Security: Deploying and Validating the Enhanced Cyber Grid Guard/DLT Framework in Operational Environments and Multiutility DER Use Cases

Abstract

Phase IV of the DarkNet project, spearheaded by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), focused on significant advancements in the Cyber Grid Guard (CGG) framework through the integration of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT). Building on the foundational work from previous phases, this phase aimed at deploying the enhanced framework in operational environments, addressing critical cybersecurity needs for the national power grid. Key objectives included improving the framework's scalability, versatility, functionality in data analysis, synchro phasor checks, and incorporating smart contracts for better security and reliability of power system data.
