Considerations for Export Control of Accelerators and Accelerator Components

Abstract

Although nuclear reactors have been the sole source for producing plutonium in all nuclear weapons states, accelerator-driven subcritical reactors are a tantalizing alternative. This report provides a review of accelerator driven technologies and components with a focus on export control.
