Estimation of Energy Savings Outcomes from AMO’S Technology Deployment Activities – Fiscal Year 2010

Abstract

The Technology Deployment program, as a part of DOE’s Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO), works directly with industrial manufacturing plants to identify opportunities to save energy and reduce harmful emissions. The purpose of Technology Deployment activities (system-specific and cross-cutting) is to improve energy management practices within the industrial sector. The primary objective of this report is to document the estimates of energy savings generated for Fiscal Year 2010 (FY2010) resulting from key activities of the program like Better Plants (LEADER), Energy Savings Assessments (ESAs), software tools, training, qualified specialists and Industrial Assessment Centers (IACs) activities. Another objective of this analysis is to estimate an energy-cost savings and pollution reduction data (in the form of carbon emission displacement).
