Abstract
This report discusses the processes involved with the characterization of an unknown amount of Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (KAPL) material for future removal and disposal at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). The material underwent pulverization prior to transfer to the Irradiated Fuels Experimental Laboratory (IFEL) North Hot Cells to remove visual classification. The entire sample was weighed, sub-sampled, dissolved, and transferred to the Radioactive Material Analytical Laboratory (RMAL) for analysis. The details of this undertaking will be discussed herein.
