Abiodun I. Adeniyi

Abiodun (Abi) Adeniyi joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in August 2014 as a post-master researcher in the Nuclear Energy and Fuel Cycle Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His research interests include energy systems siting, nuclear systems safety and security, nuclear waste transportation logistics, model and software development for tracking special nuclear material in nuclear fuel cycle (using discrete event, system dynamic, agent based and multi-method), nuclear waste management operations analysis and operational concepts communication using virtual reality and augmented reality methods. 

Abi has expert level skills in using CAD packages to design and develop nuclear waste handling systems, he performs structural and thermal analysis and test these systems using applicable codes and standards, and uses additive manufacturing technology to provide 3D printout of waste handling components. Abi’s diverse academic background enables him to participate in different research activities at ORNL and across other national labs.

Abi is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in energy science and engineering at the Bredesen Center Interdisciplinary program of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Abi earned MS in Nuclear Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, MS in Systems Engineering from Kennesaw State University, and MS in Mechanical Engineering from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Before joining ORNL.
