Alex A. Walters

Hi, my name is Alex Walters. I am a mechanical engineer with the Systems Automation and Monitoring Research Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. I have worked with large-scale Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) systems for over 5 years contributing to research on the Arc 1, Arc 2, and Medusa systems at ORNL’s Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF). I have also been the lead engineer for a few automated plant transformation and phenotyping systems through the SMART Plant initiative, as well as the Autonomous Chemistry Laboratory.
