Aline Banboukian

Dr. Aline Banboukian is a research associate in the Manufacturing Energy Efficiency Research & Analysis (MEERA) group at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Her focus is on energy, life cycle assessment (LCA), and technoeconomic analyses (TEA) of various technology applications. Her current work is primarily centered on the food and beverage manufacturing industry and integrated biorefinery technologies for paper and pulp industries. 

Dr. Banboukian received her Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology specializing in environmental and energy policy. She obtained her B.E. in industrial engineering from the Lebanese American University and M.S. in public policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research interests include the co-management of global environmental challenges, technoeconomic and life cycle assessment, sustainability, industrial ecology, circular economy, and policy adoption. The past 5 years, her research has focused on the LCA and policy adoption of agricultural technologies, wastewater treatment systems, and water reuse policies.
