Ernesto Camilo Zuleta Suarez earned his Ph.D. in Energy Science and Engineering from The University of Tennessee, where he conducted doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Joseph J. Bozell. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Energy Storage Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His research centers on the development, optimization, and diagnostic evaluation of lab-scale redox flow batteries and related electrochemical energy storage systems. His expertise includes the electrochemical characterization of redox-active species, electrolyte formulations (anolytes and catholytes), ion-conducting membranes, and current collectors. He applies advanced electrochemical techniques to understand performance limitations, degradation mechanisms, and materials stability, with the goal of improving efficiency, durability, and scalability of next-generation energy storage technologies..
