As the Section Head for Systems, Kevin manages six operationally focused groups responsible for the support of the NCCS’s computing, networking, and storage systems–including general support of critical computational and facilities-related infrastructure and systems. The section’s groups administer and support high-speed parallel file systems and archive capabilities, and develop tools and administer data management platforms to ensure security, operational, and laboratory policy compliance.
Kevin joined the lab in 2009 as a storage systems administrator in the HPC Operations Group, and served as the Group Lead for HPC Operations from 2011-2019. Prior to joining ORNL, Kevin worked as a system and storage administrator with Covenant Health Systems for approximately 12 years. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Business, where his studies focused on operations management and industrial statistics.
