Kyungnam Kang currently serves as a TP Staff member at the Center for Nanophase Materials Sciences (CNMS) in the Functional Hybrid Nanomaterials (FHN) Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge in 2012. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research on low-temperature carbon nanomaterial growth using photo-enhanced chemical vapor deposition method.
In the postdoctoral phase of his career, Kyungnam Kang worked at the Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey from 2013 to 2023. His focus during this period included two-dimensional material growth, characterization, manipulation, and applications. Since joining ORNL, he has dedicated his efforts to a laboratory refurbishment project for air-sensitive materials.
