TS Byun

Dr. TS Byun is a distinguished R&D staff member in the Radiation Effects and Microstructural Analysis Group within the Materials Science and Technology Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering (Nuclear Materials) from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in 1992. Over the course of his career, Dr. Byun has contributed to several leading research institutions, including Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Basic Energy Sciences, and the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. His research focuses on understanding radiation effects in structural materials, the deformation and fracture behavior of metals and ceramics, and the development of thermomechanical processes for damage-resistant materials.
